BUILDING SERVICES LEAD TECHNICIAN
BUILDING SERVICES TECHNICIAN
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under supervision of the Building Services Supervisor, to perform a variety of building maintenance duties.
This is a non-exempt position and is part of the Utility Services and Maintenance Bargaining Unit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Construct, install, inspect and perform general maintenance repairs to District buildings involving carpentry, plumbing, electrical and painting; perform preventative maintenance and conduct daily inspections of heating and air cooling systems; repair and assemble office furniture; maintain records of equipment operation and repairs; operate a variety of power and hand tools; read and interpret drawings and blueprints; troubleshoot and repair closed water and H.V.A.C. systems; perform overtime and/or emergency work as required. LEAD: Perform as functional supervision.

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Any combination of education, experience, knowledge and abilities may satisfy the necessary minimum qualifications. A typical way to obtain the education, experience, knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. College course work in building maintenance or related technical training.
Experience: Three (3) years building maintenance experience for Building Services Lead Technician position. One (1) year building maintenance experience for the Building Services Technician position.
Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of techniques, tools and equipment used in building maintenance involving plumbing, electrical, carpentry, heating and air conditioning; fire sprinkler system; pneumatic controls. Ability to read and understand technical drawings, sketches, plans, specifications and maintenance manuals; use electrical and mechanical tools and equipment skillfully and safely; work with minimal supervision; maintain accurate records; work cooperatively with others; write clearly and legibly; follow written and oral instructions; operate personal computers using various software.
Special Requirement: Must have a valid California Class C driver license.
