Splasher, the MID canal safety frog

Places to Swim

The City of Modesto has 22 neighborhood pools for children 12 and under. These pools are free. The City also runs a Summer recreational swim program at Beyer, Davis, Downey, Johansen and Modesto High Schools. Admission is charged at the high school pools.

Swim Lessons
Splasher, the MID canal safety frog, encourages everyone to learn to swim.

City of Modesto

The City of Modesto sponsors swim lessons each summer. Class schedules and registration information may be obtained from the City of Modesto in late May. Swim lessons typically begin the third week of June and continue until mid-August in two-week blocks. Contact the City's Recreation and Neighborhoods Department at 577-5344.

The MID annually co-sponsors beginning swim lessons with the City of Modesto, providing $3 off the regular beginning swim lesson fee.
