Description of Event

MID will hold a public hearing to consider the adoption of a revised Groundwater Sustainability Plan (GSP) for the Modesto Subbasin. This subbasin is identified in the Department of Water Resources (DWR) Bulletin 118 as Groundwater Basin 5-022.02 and is covered by the Stanislaus and Tuolumne Rivers Groundwater Basin Association Groundwater Sustainability Agency and the Tuolumne County GSA. The GSP was developed in 2022 and recently revised in response to DWR review, under the Sustainable Groundwater Management Act of 2014 and pertains to the Modesto Subbasin, which lies between the Stanislaus River to the north, Tuolumne River to the south, and the San Joaquin River to the west.

The public hearing will take place on Tuesday, July 9 at 9 a.m. Members of the public, agencies, and other interested parties are encouraged to attend and participate. Comments received during the hearing will be considered by the MID Board of Directors before making a determination on the adoption of the revised GSP. A copy of the revised GSP is available here. Meeting participation will be included with the meeting agenda.
