City of Modesto & Modesto Irrigation District Joint Urban Water Management Plan
The Urban Water Management Planning Act was established by Assembly Bill 797 (AB 797) on September 21, 1983. The law requires water suppliers in California providing water for municipal purposes either directly or indirectly to more than 3,000 customers or supplying more than 3,000 acre-feet per year (AFY) of water to prepare and adopt an Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) every 5 years.
In recognition of the State’s requirements, the City of Modesto and MID have prepared a joint UWMP.
