Modesto Reservoir

Modesto Reservoir provides water storage for MID as well as recreational opportunities and is the diversion point for the Modesto Regional Water Treatment Plant. It is located 20 miles east of Modesto, just outside Waterford.

Modesto Reservoir was completed by MID in 1915 and was originally called the Dallas-Warner Reservoir. The Reservoir has a maximum capacity of 28,000 acre feet.

Modesto Reservoir Regional Park is operated by Stanislaus County Parks & Recreation and includes camping, swimming, boating, fishing, bird watching, picnic areas and an archery range.
